A capsule Review of another great FMS outing. Yes we have been allowed into the community once more and no one was arrested or lost, so a successful jolly.
On Tuesday 7th October a geroup of members had Lunch at Avenue 141, which is Fareham College`s silver service catering training restaurant, open to the public,
Apart from a supervisor or two the cooking, waiting and customer service is carried out by young catering students, and I do mean young - or is it that I'm getting old, yes the latter.
The event was strategically organised, perfectly as usual, by Derek (our new, recently appointed, Gourmet Guru?) and the whole day was great fun.
The food quality, service, timing and attention to detail were impeccable, other diners I spoke with were equally impressed and a high proportion were repeat offenders, er customers.
Like most haute cuisine the portion sizing was on the lean side, but the quality and 3 courses more than made up for that, and I personally felt that the cost was very fair indeed.
3 courses and a beer, served at perfect temperature for £23
Thankyou again to Derek Ashmore in organising a really good day out. My name will be on the next one, along with our new Curry Night on selected Thursday evenings.
