Stairway to Heaven.

We were asked by Burridge and Parkgate Womens Institute to fix the stairs that they use at Sarisbury Green Community Center for holding an annual fashion show using the best of the clothes donated to them in order to raise funds for Rowans Hospice. As some of our members have been cared for there, it seemed really appropriate.

Colin and I went to see the stairs which had a trip hazard on the treads and no hand rails so we decided to refurbish them. Colin made new treads from a table that had been donated and I made the hand rails from an old road sign and an old clothing rail that The Theatre had discarded. The Community center were so impressed that they are now going to use them permanently and discard their old ones.

The ladies were so pleased that they made us three cakes and brought along to The Shed on Monday. Needless to say, they didn't last long and they were truly heavenly
