At this weeks social event at Catisfield we were treated to a fascinating talk from Caitlin Woombs, a representative from The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Trust Social Seascape Project about how they are trying, seemingly almost against massive odds, to conserve and improve our local coastline. They highlighted some of the problems that we face and how they are using new ideas to overcome some of them, preserving and extending the salt marshes, oyster beds, seagrass and coastal and seabird areas. With the current legislation going through regarding reducing protection for the nature to make planning easier they really need as much support as possible.
