The Rainbow Centre.

Who's got the instructions?

Our friends at The Rainbow Centre have a new Community Fundraiser and her name is Jo.

For those of you that have not heard of the Rainbow Centre - it is a rehabilitative centre catering for both children and adults diagnosed with neurological conditions including Cerebral Palsy, acquired head injuries and developmental delay. They also support adults who have MS, Parkinson’s, Stroke, or Head Injuries.

Thanks to the services they offer working with qualified conductors, they attempt to give children and adults in their care the ability to live independently, improve their quality of life and achieve their aspirations without being limited by their condition. As a local charity their work is not funded or available through the NHS. They have to raise all their own funding and support from local businesses, individual donations and supporting clubs like us, so we had no hesitation when Jo requested our help.

The immediate requirement was to assemble a metal shed, no problem!. We organised a working party and arrived at 9.30am with our tools for this quick assembly. With steel not much thicker than kitchen foil and a brisk south westerly wind it took a little longer than we planned as you can see in the pictures. Jo and her terrific team looked after us well with endless supply of coffee, tea, biscuits and cake! They really showed their appreciation with a lovely thank you card that they had all signed and a tub of Roses chocolates! They certainly know how to get us back and we will be!!!

During a coffee break Jo showed us around to see the different children's classes that were in session and believe me it was difficult to keep a dry eye!

WELL DONE RAINBOW YOU ARE FANTASTIC! Their website is www.rainbowcentre.org
