Solent Air Museum

Eleven Shed members & two wives came on the outing to the Solent Sky Museum on Thursday 4th November.

As expected , everyone was impressed by the aircraft on display which included a Spitfire, a flying boat and another 20 airframes on display. An interesting film show recorded the history of the flying boats which were built at Calshott and flew passengers all over the world.

Inside the forward section of the Short Sandringham flying boat “Beachcomber”, the passenger section seating was just as comfortable today as it was when the aircraft was in service.

Everyone seemed to enjoy the excursion and afterwards we repaired to the local Wetherspoons hostelry for a spot of lunch.

(Note to self – make sure you book a table in advance as it was very busy.)
