Our New, new drill

As the last new drill from Axminster was returned for a second time the new one arrived. Rod, Alan and Oliver were in place ready to start assembling it. I arrived just in time to watch and take the pictures.

It didn't take that long although it doesn't do you knees any good getting that low on a concrete floor. Luckily the holes were in the same place as the old unit.

Once they were satisfied that the finished drill wasn't going to try wandering around we started to assemble the rest of the thing. Instructions WERE read and followed as much as possible. They weren't written in Chenglish but the grammar could have been improved on.

It was a bit of a struggle getting the head assembly fitted, luckily there were enough of us to lift it into position and it's a bit of luck that Oliver is as tall as he is. Tried turning it on and NOTHING. The air started to turn blue, in fact it began to go from blue to crimson until Alan twigged that the panic button needed resetting. Button twisted, start button pressed and hey presto - a working drill.

We can now but hope that it lasts longer than the first one did.

Now, does it work?

Starting the build.
