Eric Collins RIP

Eric Collins 1941-2022

It is with great sadness that we have heard that one of our members, Eric Collins, passed away on the 17th April after a short illness.

Eric joined the Shed in February 2019 and soon made friends. When his circumstances allowed he would get involved with projects. He enjoyed the involvement of team work and was a confident do-it yourself person. A good example of this can be seen in the pictures on our website for the work we did at Uplands Primary School in August 2019.

He donated a trailer to our shed and would always tow it around for us to outside events which made things so much quicker and easier for us to set up our stalls.

Eric served Fareham well, He was first a milkman and part time firefighter.. He became Officer in Charge at Fareham for the retained firefighters and was a full time Control Room Operator for Hampshire Fire Brigade receiving and dealing with all the 999 calls. On retiring Eric drove cars for Radio Taxis so he knew Fareham very well.

Eric was a quiet, sociable person. A real family man with 5 children, 10 grandchildren and 4 great grand children, he will be missed and remembered with great fondness by everyone.

R.I.P. Eric
