Colin Mansbridge 22nd April 1946 - 13th April 2021 R.I.P.

It is with great sadness that we have lost such a worthy member of our Shed

Colin joined Fareham Men's Shed in 2017. He immediately made friends and joined in with projects and the extending of “our shed”. Nothing was ever too much trouble for Colin and he would often spend hours on the Internet and driving around the area to get the “best deal” for the shed! Colin was a great DIY man and had a workshop he was proud of with almost everything a man could wish for. When it came to bits and pieces if Colin didn't have it at home it didn't exist!

There was another side to Colin that perhaps not all members were aware of. Colin was an accomplished ballroom dancer and judge. He and his wife were Senior International Champions before turning professional. Sadly when his wife Janet died in 2010 the competitions stopped but that did not stop Colin enjoying the world of ballroom dancing. As well as becoming a highly accredited judge he ran a dancing school and became chairman of the Dancers Forget- Me - Knot Fund. A registered charity set up to help dancers of many different disciplines who had been hospitalised and needed support both financially and wellbeing within the dancing community.

Colin cared about others and it will not just be Fareham Men's Shed who will miss Colin and remember him with great fondness. RIP Colin.
